I can't believe this has gotten big enough for me that I wanted to make a separate page to ramble. Anyway.
The pages with actual information are the ones apart from this one with buttons; Race Years is a basic overview of when certain Umamusume raced, and Thoroughbred Collection outlines the horse merchandise released under that collection. Since I edit what I want on a whim, they're going to be outdated to some degree at some point.
More importantly: horses.
I never planned to get into Umamusume; I saw the game come out and people start playing it, but it didn't interest me, so I ignored it. Then, there came a point where I felt too ill to do much other than mope miserably for a few days, and that's when I started playing the global version of the game. Still, after that period of time, I just casually played when I felt like it, and aside from realizing that it was more than I thought it was, I wouldn't call myself invested. I started becoming more curious about it and reading the stories when an acquaintance compared Orfevre and Dream Journey to two other characters I liked, and that intrigued me, but...
The real nail in the coffin came when I was feeling ill again, and I bingewatched all three main seasons of the anime nonstop for a few days. I sobbed my way through season 2, and by then, I was already firmly sinking into the quicksand of Umamusume starting to be important to me.
My physical state in this body isn't the most stable, but in that moment, all I wanted to do was run. The desperate feeling of knowing it would hurt, and that I wouldn't be able to breathe, and yet, I just wanted to move; stuck in bed, barely able to drag myself outside for some fresh air, all I wanted to do was run somewhere far away. Maybe it was all that mixed together, how I was feeling and the strength of the story and my growing attachment to the characters all at once, but I properly fell into Umamusume then, and it's been a strong interest since.
My favorite Umamusume are Still in Love and Orfevre, though I love many others, and my favorite non-Umamusume horse is California Flag.
